Empowering Women
& Girls Globally

Women-Owned Media & Education Network is an international non-governmental
organization dedicated to empowering women and girls through skill-building training,
workshops, and mentorship programs.

Empowering the Voices of Today's Women, Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow

Women-Owned Media and Education Network (W.O.M.E.N) was born from the belief that every woman should be permitted to achieve their full potential, realize their hopes, dreams, and aspirations. We want to give women across the globe the assurance that as long as they believe in themselves, they can achieve whatever goal they set to accomplish in their lives.

Our Core Values

Equality

We stand against women and girls discrimination. We believe that women deserve equal access to power, resources and opportunities. Women should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness at all times.

Capacity Development

We believe that capacity building and training are crucial to genuinely empower women to fully realize their potential.

Advocacy

We are committed to identifying barriers to women’s equality and being a voice that advocates for change.

Fellowship and Diversity

We recognize the social and cultural uniqueness of each and every woman, and foster practical, psychological and professional interaction among them to improve and add value to their lives.

It was so good to meet persons from both Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. I really loved when Ms.Lucia spoke about what we were going to learn and the aim is to use it to Thrive at home. I had so much fun today. Spanish was only ringing in my head for the entire day. I really like the idea of Integration which Ms.Lucia kept mentioning. The most impactful part of today would've been when Ms.Hanifah, the Co-founder of @RyuDanEmpowermentFoundatuion shared her story and her own meaning of the word FLOURISH.

My experience at Flourish Cohort II was a very riviltalizing one. I came in excited just to learn something new and left motivated to soar(FLOURISH).From the very first day I entered the door Miss.Lucia the programme facilitator and her entire team was very welcoming, accepting and encouraging. I felt loved. The friendship I developed with both local and migrants will be forever remembered and cherish. I came to realize the saying that love makes the world go around is so true.

We at St Jude's School for Girls express our heartfelt gratitude to be part of the EatSmart initiative. It has given the girls a sense of purpose and pride as they observed the plants grow from one stage to the other. Natural skills and abilities were exhibited by the girls during the preparation process, watering of plants and giving appropriate nutrients to the plants, but more importantly learning that they can plant the food they eat and make positive choices to healthy eating. We at St Jude's take this opportunity as a START UP project and to continue as part of our cycle of activities in our curriculum. We sincerely thank the I.O.M for considering us and we look forward to future partnerships. ”

" Thanks to W.O.M.E.N for brainstorming and executing this grow smart initiative which aims to develop sustainable agriculture practices that would help with food security and sovereignty.... As a traditional farmer, getting exposure through innovative ways of farming such as hydroponics and aquaponics, has thoroughly been an eye opener. I'm excited to utilize all the wealth of knowledge shared throughout the program to start my own integrated hydroponics system on my farm.”
