The UK Embassy in Port of Spain & Women-Owned Media and Education Network
The UK Embassy in Port of Spain has partnered with Women-Owned Media and Education Network (W.O.M.E.N) for the execution of the “GrowSmart: Empowering Rural Women In Sustainable Agriculture Practices“. This is an initiative aimed at educating and training women farmers and aspiring agribusiness entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to implement sustainable and innovative agricultural practices to increase their livelihood.
W.O.M.E.N’s mission is to create a platform for women that caters to multi-issues by employing a multi-strategy approach through knowledge and skill-based development, aid programs, counselling, and other services. We want to enable them to have active access to enterprises and employment for self-reliance and thus become more economically sustainable for personal fulfilment.

Program Details
Classes are Hybrid Model
- Applications Open 4th September 2023 and Closes 25th September 2023
- Developing alternative climate-smart agriculture to improve farming opportunities.
- All selected participants will be notified via email by 28th September 2023
- All packages will be distributed at Orientation, 7th October 2023
- Program runs from the 7th of October 2023 to the 28th of November 2023

You MUST be Passionate and responsible for attending the entire program actively.
Women living in Trinidad and Tobago

The program will be conducted as a hybrid model that involves virtual and in-person sessions
Yes, a certificate of completion will be given
Previous experience in agriculture is attractive but not necessary
There are no costs directly associated with the participation of the program. Indirect cost such as transportation to in-person venues may be incurred.
